- Web design doesn’t look professional, which makes visitors suspicious

Those are some good points. I have been testing this with a lot of Google Tools and making tweaks. Google Website Optimizer can display two or more different pages for a URL and track which one converts more through time. it works very good.
Also, use Google analytics. Its an awesome free tool.
